Parts of France have been hit by heavy snowfall over the past two days, causing chaos in Paris, where airports are experiencing delays and cancelled flights.
Road traffic has also been affected in the capital as well as in other French regions. According to reports, a weather alert was given for more than 30 departments in northern and western France.
The unfavourable conditions are far from new to the French this year. Since the beginning of January, cold weather has had a varied impact within France, increasing consumption of brassicas and blocking the port of Marseille for two whole days.
A report detailing the weather’s impact on the cultivation and distribution of fresh produce in France will follow shortly.
