Fruit Attraction, the international fresh produce industry trade fair which takes place in Madrid, Spain, has opened its doors for the fourth time, attracting a reported 597 exhibitors and around 600 buyers and distributors from around the world.
According to organisers Ifema and Fepex, the number of exhibitors taking part in this year's event has increased 6.5 per cent on last year, covering around 16 per cent more space at 16,900m2.
"The response for this edition also confirms the burgeoning importance of this new event which, in just four years, has become an essential professional forum for the Spanish market and one of the leading international gatherings, particularly within Europe," a spokesperson for the event said.
This year's edition features a total of 97 companies from Belgium, Brazil, France, Italy, Benelux, Portugal and the UK, along with national exhibitor stands representing Argentina, Brazil, France, Italy, Portugal and, for the first time, the Netherlands.
The Dutch stand features a number of individual companies and has been organised by the Dutch Agricultural Wholesale Board with support from the Dutch embassy in Spain and the Netherlands Council of Agriculture in Madrid.
Fruit Attraction takes place at the Feria de Madrid exhibition centre on 24-26 October.
