FRESH2009, which takes place in Valencia on 28-29 April, will include discussions on the impact of new quality standards on the European fresh produce industry.
The leading conference event for Europe's fresh fruit and vegetable industry will see a keynote address by Francisco Contreras of Edeka Fruchtkontor, the fresh produce sourcing arm of Germany's largest food retailer, during which he will touch on the issue of quality standards among other key issues.
Meanwhile, Gé Happe, the new fresh produce director of Ahold, will be speaking at FRESH for the first time, alongside Manuel Garcia of leading Spanish supermarket chain Consum.
Europe's retailers head a list of speakers and delegates from across the European fresh fruit and vegetable industry who will focus on the key theme of innovation in today's fresh produce supply chain.
The subject of innovation also features in three breakout sessions at FRESH. Speakers from companies such as Nunhems, Plant & Food Research, Morpho, Bama Gruppen, Agr Agro, eFresh and Anglia business Solutions will explain how innovation can apply to solutions that feature both in the supply chain and in promoting to consumers.
This year's FRESH, which allows delegates to network with over 250 buyers and suppliers from Valencia and the rest of the world, takes place at the same time as EuroAgro, Spain's leading fresh produce trade fair at the Feria de Valencia.
