In a letter addressed to the national association for apples and pears, France’s national federation of fruit producers (FNPF) has denounced the importation of apples “from Europe and third countries”.
The FNPF’s president, Bruno Dupont, argues that foreign apples “destabilise the French market by bringing down the prices paid to producers”.
In the letter, the FNPF asks the national association to send a message to its members “to block imports while French produce is available”.
