Group reports on growth in branded activities, while overall sales endure a slight downturn of 1.5 per cent
French prepared food specialist Bonduelle has outlined its results for the first half of 2024/25, with sales dropping on the same period of the previous financial year.
Over the period 1 July to 31 December 2024, Bonduelle’s sales amounted to €1.12bn compared with €1.14bn in the first fiscal half of 2023/24.
This represented a 1.5 per cent drop on a like-for-like basis, and a 1.7 per cent fall on reported figures.
In the Europe zone, sales fell from €712.6mn in the first-half of 2023/24 to €672.3mn.
In value, Bonduelle noted that 1.9 per cent growth in branded activities over the period confirmed the strategic importance of brand development, as announced in its ’Transform to win’ transformation plan last October.
This contrasted with the marked decline in the private label segment of 6.9 per cent, it said.
Bonduelle also announced several projects “designed to protect the company’s long-term future”, including the planned downsizing of Bonduelle Frais France and the disposal of its packaged salad businesses in France and Germany.
