BelOrta CEO Filip Fontaine has left the company following five years at the helm of Belgium’s largest fruit and vegetables auction.
Fontaine began his auction career as director of Brava, subsequently becoming director of Coöbra following the merger of Brava and Greenpartners.
When Coöbra came together with the Malines Auctions to create BelOrta in 2012, Fontaine remained as director, as he did following the addition of the Borgloon auction in 2014.
Fontaine will continue to represent BelOrta on coming assignments later this year, including on the breeding of new apple varieties, the company stated.
“We wish Filip every success in his future career,” said chairman Leo Baestaens.
