Fedefruta, the official lobbying group for Chile’s fresh fruit growers, has re-elected Rodrigo Echeverría Díaz to serve as president of the organisation for a further two years.
The association has also chosen to re-elect all other seven board members, including first vice-president Domingo Romero Cortés, second vice-president Cristián Allendes Marín, treasurer Ismael Valdés Valdés, secretary Felipe Espinosa Urzúa, and directors Francisco Donoso de Toro and Luis Castro Marín.
During his second two-year term, Mr Echeverría has indicated he hopes to further integrate services provided by Fedefruta, such as ISO certification, to help Chilean fruit growers retain the profitability of their operations.
Fedefruta represents more than 1,000 Chilean fresh fruit growers and 22 fruit growing associations throughout the country.
