At a press conference on 8 January, Fedefruta, Chile’s Fruit Growers Federation and the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) will announce a new event for South America.
PMA Fruittrade Latin America, an international conference and exposition, will take place in Santiago, Chile, in November 2014.
The inaugural event will bring together members of the entire fresh produce supply chain including growers, retailers and exporters.
PMA Fruittrade Latin America will replace both Fedefruta and PMA’s long standing individual conventions in the region.
'Uniting PMA’s community of global buyers with Fedefruta’s depth in the grower and supplier sectors will bring a unique value to attendees and exhibitors,' a statement read.
The new collaboration is part of PMA’s strategic efforts to build consumer connections for members by linking industry to the people, new markets and insights needed to grow business and increase fresh produce consumption.
