More than 1,500 attended a party held to celebrate Agricola Famosa’s 20th anniversary earlier this month.
The company, which has round 8,000ha of production in the states of Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte, is Brazil’s biggest melon exporter and also exports papayas, bananas, asparagus and passion fruit. Around 90 per cent of its output is shipped to Europe but the company also supplies melons to Asia and the Middle East.
Founder and director Luiz Roberto Barcelos said the event celebrated 20 years of steady growth and market expansion for the company. “We have got where we are through the hard work and dedication of our staff as well as constant innovation and continual investment in order to guarantee our customers receive the right quality,” he told Fruitnet.
