The fourth edition of Expoalimentaria Perú, the annual food and beverage trade exhibition held in Peru, is set to generate more than US$500m-worth in business deals, according to the Peruvian Exporters Association (Adex).
The 2012 event, organised by Adex with the support of PromPerú, the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture, will take place on 19-21 September at the Pentagonito in San Borja, Lima.
“Expoalimentaria 2012 will present a complete demonstration of agricultural, agro-industrial and fishery products as well as supplies, equipment, machinery and packaging for the food processing, restaurant and gastronomy industries,” said Adex general manager Patricia Fernán-Zegarra Miranda.
To date more than 85 per cent of the trade fair has been sold, Adex said, and a total of 592 exhibitors are expected, of which 442 will be national exhibitors.
Participants from across Peru will take part in the show as well as international exhibitors from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland, among others.
Around 30,00 local visitors are expected, above the 27,273 who attended in 2011, while a further 2,000 attendees are anticipated from overseas.
