Pest Management solutions group Exosect has annouced that it has received a 120-day emergency approval and consent to market ExosexLBAMTab for the control of Light Brown Apple Moth.

The move comes following requests form the horticultural industry to help increase its options for dealing with the pest, which is recorded as having been associated with over 2,000 plant species – with more under threat as it becomes further established.

'This approval is a huge win for our industry,' said Alison Tod, sales manager at Exosect. 'To offer a solution at a time when growers are expected to supply top quality produce with minimal residues, without all the necessary tools, makes this emergency approval perfectly apt to complete the growers toolkit.'

The LBAMTab contains synthetic female Light Brown Apple moth pheromone, which is formulated with Exosect's patented Entostat powder. The systems attracts males to the tablet where the electrostatic powder adheres to the moths' antennae and body, overwhelming the sensors and preventing them from detecting females to mate with.
