Container imports into Europe from key global markets are dropping rapidly, with volumes for June well down on the same period of 2011.
According to the latest Container Trades Statistics data, reported by Lloyd's Loading List, volumes from Asia fell by nearly 9 per cent in June, down to just under 1.1m TEU.
Meanwhile, Eastbound shipments from North America to Europe decreased by 7.5 per cent year-on-year, after declines of 12.1 per cent and 11.3 per cent in April and May respectively.
