Euro Pool System has signed an agreement to purchase La Palette Rouge (LPR), a pallet pooling specialist based in Toulouse, France.
The Netherlands-based packaging company believes the acquisition will enhance the firms' abilities to provide "returnable packaging and material handling solutions and related value-added reverse logistics services" to a customer base that includes fresh food companies.
Euro Pool already holds a 41 per cent share of continental Europe's returnable packaging market for fresh produce, while LPR is present in eight countries, handling more than 45m pallet movements a year.
LPR will retain its name, operating as a division of Euro Pool.
