Eosta has celebrated the delivery of the 15 millionth organic sweet potato to be sent to Europe, along with its supplier, Jose 'Pepe' Calderon of Farmpak.
Organic fresh specialist Eosta started importing sweet potatoes from North Carolina to Europe a few years ago, and since then sales have been 'buoyant', the group says.
Calderon, export manager at Farmpak, visited Eosta in the Netherlands to discuss business, and noted that he was pleasantly surprised when taken out for a photo shoot with the 15 millionth sweet potato.
“We particularly like the fact that Eosta is telling the story behind the product through their Nature & More system,' explained Calderon. 'Most people here in Europe are not aware of all the benefits and the taste of the sweet potato and therefore it is so important that companies like Nature & More inform them.'
Eosta product manager Sander Dijkslag added: “We have seen significant growth over the last few years and we are confident it will continue to grow in the future. However, the high demand for this amazing product is not the only reason why our business with Farmpak has developed so well. It's also a reward for the constant product quality and the excellent logistics of Farmpak.'
