Ecuador is ramping up its blueberry production

Hong Kong has become the latest market to receive Ecuadorean-grown blueberries. La Hora reported that the company involved, Nobis Fruit Company, will initially send three weekly pallets of the AtlasBlue variety by air, with this volume expected to double as the season progresses.

The company has invested in state-of-the art sorting and packing technology to meet the strict quality standards of the Hong Kong market.

General manager Luis Ponce said: “The introduction of our blueberries in Hong Kong is a great step that reaffirms our commitment to quality and innovation. Thanks to the unique characteristics of our Ecuadorean fruit, we can offer the Asian market a differentiated product that satisfies the high expectations of our customers”.

Nobis Fruit Company is counting on positioning Ecuador as a new and attractive supplier to Asian importers. The company said it plans to expand exports to other markets such as the US, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, Spain and the Netherlands over the coming year.
