CHEP pallets

Los Angeles-based Eclipse Berry Farms, a leading grower of berries and grape tomatoes, has announced that it has signed a new contract with Chep, an industry leader in pallet and container pooling solutions.

The US produce group transports branded strawberries, raspberries and tomatoes from its fields in California to supermarkets, club stores, wholesalers and foodservice distributors across the US and Canada on Chep pallets.

Prior to the deployment of Chep pallets in 2003, Eclipse used a pallet system that was 'not cost effective for its supply chain needs', with Chep leading to improved safety outcomes and reduced product damage.

'Chep provides a comprehensive solution that has been tested in the field for years, so we know it is going to meet or exceed all of our shipping platform requirements,' said Rick Hearst of Eclipse Berry Farms. 'They are also helping us dramatically reduce product damage and supporting our efforts to make the product handling process as safe as possible for all involved.'
