The P3 Network has announced that it will not face antitrust proceedings from the European Commission after its operations were approved this week.
The network, a long-term operational alliance between container shipping giants CMA CGM, Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), has been sub ject to regulatory review in both the EU and the US.
Following a self-assessment in the EU, and subsequent discussions between P3 and the EC to ensure that P# remains in compliance with European competition law, the EC approved the partnership – although it will continue to monitor the progress of the network to ensure it remains compliant.
This followed the new in March that the US Federal Maritime Commission had decided to allow the P3 Network agreement to become effective in the US.
