Univeg Katopé has announced that, after working closely with specialist Spanish grower SAT Edoa (Cherries Glamour), Northern Hemisphere cherries will be available earlier than ever before at premium UK retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) this spring.
'These cherries are unique; grown in the shadow of the Pyrenees they are the only cherries available at this time of year,' Univeg said in a statement 'M&S are selling 30mm-plus size cherries - these extremely large, dark red fruit are characterised by an intense flavour, crispness, and great firm flesh.'
To ensure premium eating qualities the cherries are 'ripened to perfection, picked & despatched daily to ensure ultimate freshness and flavour', Univeg Katopé said.
The cherries are available in selected M&S stores now, and should continue through to the end of April.
