Dubai International Airport terminal 3 will open for exclusive use by Emirates Airlines on 14 October, Dubai Airports revealed yesterday.
The terminal is currently undergoing “operational readiness trials”, before being officially opened in a four-phase process to ensure that systems and processes are working efficiently.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and chairman of Dubai Airports, said: “Terminal 3 and the associated development represent a much needed expansion of Dubai’s aviation infrastructure. The new facility will play an important role in supporting Dubai’s economic progress, and reaffirm the city’s image as an emerging global aviation hub.”
Emirates Airlines, which accounts for more than half of operations at terminal 1, is expected to move its operations to the new terminal.
