Dole shipping

Dole Ocean Cargo Express, the shipping company owned by US fresh produce giant Dole Food, has reportedly added the Port of Salerno in the south-west Italian region of Campania to its South America-Mediterranean service.

Represented in Italy by maritime agency CSA, the liner service's port rotation also includes Guayaquil (Ecuador), Cartagena and Santa Marta (Colombia), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Valencia (Spain), Livorno (Italy), Pireaus (Greece), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Guayaquil (Ecuador) and Puerto Limon (Costa Rica).

According to L'Avvisatore Marittimo, the service will call at Salerno for the first time on Friday 22 January, providing faster connections for customers in the south of Italy shipping fruit via Terminal Frutta Salerno.

Dole's Livorno service, which calls at the port every eight days, has been in operation for more than a decade.
