Russian grocery chain Dixy has announced that it recorded a 43 per cent increase in net sales for the first eight months of the year, or 51.6 per cent in dollar terms.
The result, which saw sales come in at R58.8bn (E1.4bn), was boosted by the acquisition of rival retailer Victoria in June this year, the group noted.
That acquisition made Dixy the fifth-largest food retailer in Russia by sales, Reuters reported, and the third-largest domestic groceryretailer.
In September, Dixy revealed that net profit for the second quarter of the year had come in at R390m (E9m), a year-on-year drop of some R3m.
