In France, hard discounters Aldi and Lidl have joined Auchan, Carrefour, Intermarché, Leclerc, Casino, Système U and Cora in signing the agreement to reduce margins on fruit and vegetable items in times of crisis.
The announcement came over a month after the original signing, which took place in the presence of French president Nicolas Sarkozy on 17 May.
