Belgium-based Delhaize has announced in a statement that it has completed the sale of its four German stores to Rewe.

The move was initially made by Rewe to acquire the outlets in July this year, and, after receiving approval from German antitrust authorities, the deal has now been concluded.

No fee has been disclosed by either party regarding the purchase.

Delhaize first entered the German market in 2003 on a trial basis, and reported revenues of €19.5m at the end of 2008.
