Strube Celery and Vegetable Co. president and chief operating officer Dave Watson has been handed a role at Del Monte Fresh Produce's Arlington Heights office in Illinois, according to sources at the group.

Mr Watson joined Del Monte in January in the position of vice-president North American sales for the central region, two Del Monte sources told The Packer.

Prior to becoming president and CCO at Strube in 2004, Mr Watson had worked as vice-president of commercial trading for Chiquita Brands International.
