Decofrut has established branches in France and Russia as part of the international expansion of the Chile-based company’s quality control services for the Chilean fresh fruit trade.
The new offices, which open today (Monday 15 February), are located in Rungis (south of Paris), and St. Petersburg (the major import hub for fresh fruit arriving in Russia), according to a report by Portal Frutícola.
Both facilities boast a team of Decofrut employees, marking a change in the company’s strategy which until now has focused on working with local firms.
“The decision to open offices in France and Russia comes down to needs outlined in both countries as well as Decofrut’s interest in increasing its operations at a global level in order to satisfy ever more demanding market requirements,” Decofrut vice-president Fernando Irarrázaval told Portal Frutícola.
“The objective is to be in the place where the sales are actually taking place, where decisions have to be made quickly.”
The new offices join Decofrut’s expanding global network, which already includes bases in Barcelona, Madrid, the Netherlands, the UK, Italy, the US (Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Miami), Mexico, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Korea.
