Damco, a leading provider of freight forwarding and supply chain management services, has announced that it has joined more than 400 retailers, manufacturers and service providers in becoming a member of The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF).
The CGF, which Damco joined officially on 1 September, exists to drive collaboration across all its members to secure consumer trust and drive positive change – for the benefit of business, people and the planet.
Joining The Consumer Goods Forum was described as 'a prestigious moment' for Damco, given the synergies between the strategic goals of the company and the CGF.
“Being a member of The Consumer Goods Forum gives us the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the needs and changes in the consumer goods industry,' saidKlaus Rud Sejling, Damco’s chief executive officer. 'By sharing our expertise in managing complex and business critical supply chains, we can together develop solutions which create a sustainable consumer goods industry and help organisations to be future-ready.”
Peter Freedman, managing director of The Consumer Goods Forum said the organisation was pleased to welcome Damco as a member.
'Much of the CGF’s agenda relies on global, industry-wide collaboration to drive more efficient and more sustainable supply chains,' he explained. 'Damco’s internationally recognised logistics expertise will be of great benefit to this collaborative work.”
