Damco has announced that it has hired the experienced Wade Thompson as the new chief commercial officer for the Middle East region.
Mr Thompson, an Australian national, brings with him a 15-year career in freight, logistics and supply chain management, including knowledge and expertise in business development, logistics operations and supply chain planning.
He joins Damco from Ceva Logistics, where he recently held the position of director of contract logistics and sales, and he was handed the LOG Magazine Logistics Innovator of the Year Award in 2009.

'With his in-depth knowledge of both the industry and the Middle East region, Wade will be a great asset for Damco and will be instrumental in our continued efforts to expand out activities in the Middle East, where we are looking at additional commercial resources to strengthen our profile in the market.'
