Damco has announced that it has appointed experienced logistics and supply chain specialist Stefan Weber as head of carrier management for North America, a position he took up on 3 January 2011.
Mr Weber joins the company from Kuehne & Nagel and will now be responsible for the management and strategic direction of Damco's North American ocean carrier management including freight procurement, ensuring commercial success in global tenders and providing leadership to the allocation management and procurement teams across the Damco network.

'Stefan brings over 26 years of experience to our company and we feel that his industry insight and background will help us execute our long term strategies which will be instrumental in driving results in North America'
Mr Weber said that he was looking forward to his new position, and highlighted the potential for Damco to grow customer business and position itself even better in the market.
