State-of-the-art facility specialises in the ripening, selection, packaging and distribution of avocados and mangoes
Cultipalta, a company belonging to leading tropical fruit importer and distributor Cultivar, has opened a new ripening facility in Mercabarna, Barcelona’s wholesale market. The facility, which specialises in the ripening, selection, packaging and distribution of avocados and mangoes, marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy.
The 8,000m2 packhouse is equipped with cutting-edge technology for the controlled ripening and precise selection of avocados and mangoes, adjusting to the requirements of each client.
“This facility will allow us to optimise processes and increase volumes, ensuring that the fruit reaches our clients at its optimal point of ripeness, with maximum freshness and quality,” the company said.
The hi-tech packhouse allows for the optimisation of resources and the minimisation of CO2 emissions. “Thanks to these improvements, a significant reduction in the carbon footprint is achieved, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly model,” Cultivar said.
“We are committed to offering the best product and service to our customers and this new centre will allow us to improve our efficiency and ability to respond to the growing demand for avocados and mangoes.”
