Experts from the plant sciences industry will gather in San José, Costa Rica on Friday for the fourth edition of the Future of Agriculture seminar organised by CropLife Latin America, the international organisation representing the plant science industry.
CropLife said the event would seek to debunk some of the myths surrounding the use of agrochemicals in agriculture.
“Crop protection products are used by more than 1.8bn producers to help them feed the world’s 7bn inhabitants,” the organisation said in a press release ahead of the conference. “Experts will seek to separate the fact from the fiction about these products, as well as offering advice to growers on how best to use them to help them increase their productivity.”
The speakers include José Perdomo, president of CropLife Latin America, Guido Vargas, secretary of the Union of Small and Medium National Producers of Costa Rica and Magda Gonzalez, director of the country’s Plant Health Service.
