Coop Norge is planning to invest in launching 150 new stores over the next ten years, covering all cities with population growth as well as established regions such as Oslo and Bergen.
The Norwegian group is currently searching for new shop space, Planet Retail reported, with the new outlets expected to have a sales area of between 213m2-2,134m2.
'It varies from city and municipality to municipality, but in Oslo it is difficult to get hold of good premises,' the group's information director Bjørn Kløvstad noted. 'If we buy all the premises, it will be very capital intensive. We are therefore increasingly more open to rental of properties.'
