The Port of Los Angeles has released its April cargo volumes, with numbers down 9.45 per cent year-on-year, due in large part to a vessel service shifting out of the the port.
According to the port, imports fell 10.36 per cent on the same period of 2012, down from 364,555 TEUs to 326,780 TEUs, while exports fell 14.3 per cent from 186,838 TEUs to 160,129 TEUs.
Combined loaded throughout dropped 11.69 per cent to 486,910 TEUs from 551,393 TEUs last year, and this figure came to 640,330 TEUs when factoring in empties.
