Last week, Group Pomanjou, the French apple producer and marketer based in the Loire valley, welcomed a new member to its group, southern French grower Comimpex.
Comimpex founder Jean Selverro had previously announced his desire to step back from the business while ensuring its continued success. The sale of his shares to Group Pomanjou is therefore a way of guaranteeing the future of the company, according to a statement from Group Pomanjou.
Commercial director Eric Guasch has taken over Comimpex’s presidency, with Selverro remaining on-hand temporarily.
In addition to apples and pears, Comimpex also produces chestnuts, stonefruit and kiwifruit.
