Hamburg-based fresh produce company Cobana has opted for continuity by making three new appointments to its management team from within.
The group’s supervisory board confirmed it had promoted Ekkehard Knabe, Andre Lenzen and Patrick Sperl, each to the position of managing director, handing them joint responsibility for the company’s future commercial activities.
All three of the new appointees have played a key role in developing Cobana’s business in recent years: Knabe as key account manager for consumer goods and trade; Lenzen in the sourcing department; and Sperl as category manager for various key products.
“Their appointment ensures continued constructive growth and positive development of the Cobana group of companies,” the board said in a statement, adding that the three would focus in particular on customer relations in Germany and abroad, as well as the further development of Cobana’s production activities.
The trio effectively replaces former managing director Jürgen Boruszewski, who is retiring following a two-year transition period during which Jürgen Bruch came in as joint managing director.
In May, Bruch was elected to the supervisory board by the group’s shareholders, at the same time taking over the management of subsidiary company Schwabfrucht.
It is understood Boruszewski will continue to support Cobana’s management team in future in an advisory capacity.
