The CMA CGM Group has revealed the upcoming union of its Containerships and MacAndrews brands under the single Containerships brand, a movd that will come into force on 1 April this year.
The French group noted that by joining the forces of two recognised experts of intra-European multimodal transport, it will create and develop an Intra-European leading brand, combining 'unique maritime and inland solutions with complementary regional footprints'.
'This new, innovative single brand will thus be able to unlock major synergies and concentrate its resources on commercial growth and on the development of high quality services for its customers,' the company stated. 'The integration of the local agencies networks will also allow for the creation of a tailored intra-regional service, in line with the CMA CGM Group’s 'Customer Centricity' strategy.'
Acquired by the CMA CGM Group in 2018, Containerships is a specialist in intra-Europe for logistics services related to containerised cargo.
MacAndrews, which joined the CMA CGM Group in 2002 and which merged with OPDR in 2018, offers a complete range of quality rail, road and maritime transport services and is a specialist of container transport on Intra-European routes.
“With the combination of these two complementary brands recognised for their expertise, the CMA CGM Group reaffirms its strategy aimed at densifying its regional coverage and developing land and logistics services,' said Guillaume Lathelize, senior vice president – short sea lines Med & North Europe.'We will thus be able to offer our customers tailored end-to-end solutions and better cater to their expectations and their needs.”
