French shipping group CMA CGM has announced that it has been awarded 'Gold Recognition Level' for the fourth consecutive year by Ecovadis, a ratings agency specialised in evaluating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Ecovadis’ report underlines the strong performance of the CMA CGM Group on environmental, labour practices and human rights, fair business practices, and sustainable procurement issues.
The evaluation positions CMA CGM among the top 1 per cent most responsible companies in its sector, and among the top 5 per cent most responsible companies across all sectors.
CMA CGM said that receiving the rating for the fourth consecutive year bears testimony to the active engagement of the group’s collaborators as well as to its excellency in the field of CSR.
“The growth of CMA CGM over the past 40 years has been based on strong humane values,' said Tanya Saadé Zeenny, executive officer of CMA CGM. 'This ethical requirement is closely linked to the group’s family history and manifests itself into the implementation of ambitious initiatives in this regard. Our CSR policy contributes to making us a leader of the industry.”
