AEM-Agezie Europee Marittime, the Italian representative of French shipping group CM Marfret, has announced the introduction of a new reefer service operating between Costa Rica and Italy.
According to the group, the service integrates existing intra-Caribbean routes, operating to and from Puerto Moín with calls at Santo Domingo, Algeciras, Livorno and Genoa.
The revamped service, which will particularly used to transport fresh produce such as bananas and pineapples, kicks off with the vessel Luisa Schulte calling at Puerto Moin on 17 December, before arriving in Italy on 4 January.
The service makes calls at Algeciras, Barcelona, Séte, Genoa, Livorno, Valencia, Tangeri, and, on the other side of the Mediterranean, Fort de Frace, Pointe a Pitre, LA Guaiara, Cartagena, Manzanillo, Port Moin, Rio Haina, Fort de France and Algeciras.
In addition, a further call at Port of Spain in Trinidad will be added to the service in 2012.
