Chiquita is planning to extend its successful new Fruit Bar retail format with the addition of at least 12 new stores accross Europe, the company has revealed.

The multinational has already rolled out 13 of the bars under franchise agreements in Germany, Belgium and Switzerland.

One of the markets being targeted for growth is Italy, where the company has enjoyed early success for its range of blue-label Frullatti 10 e Lode smoothies.

According to the Chiquita Italy website, the company is now looking for franchise partners in the country as it seeks to meet growing consumer demand for healthy and convenient products.

Chiquita Fruit Bars offer consumers a brightly coloured, relaxing and entertaining environment in which to purchase and consumer Chiquita-branded fresh-cut produce including salads and fruit salads, as well as smoothies, milkshakes, juices, yoghurts and cocktails prepared on the spot.

The outlets are also designed to be multifunctional in terms of their customers' requirements, offering an ideal place to have breakfast, brunch, snacks, lunch and happy hour.
