Chiquita has made its presence official in Charlotte as the multinational fresh produce company unveiled its iconic brand symbol atop the Nascar Plaza building.
The group announced in November 2011 that it was relocating its corporate headquarters to the North Carolina city from its long-standing location of Cincinnati.
'Government and business leaders in Charlotte work in seamless fashion with the single minded objective to improve our community,' said Fernando Aguirre, Chiquita chairman and CEO. 'Chiquita’s move to the Queen City is a great example. This is a differentiator that I hope we maintain and other communities can learn and re-apply. Unveiling our building signs is an important milestone in our relocation process, and we are pleased to be able to add a little blue and yellow to the Charlotte skyline.'
While Chiquita's new office space is still in the process of being upfitted, the final space will provide Charlotte employees an open, bright, branded and collaborative workspace designed to represent the Company's Live Chiquita! culture, the group said.
Final upfitting is scheduled to be completed by early September this year.
