US-based Chiquita Brands International has announced that Lori Ritchey has been appointed as the group's vice-president, controller and chief accounting officer, effective today (9 April).
Ms Ritchey, 45, steps up from her role as vice-president of internal auditing, which she has held since joining the group in 2008.
'Lori has extensive global experience in accounting, finance and business processes with high-growth organisations,' said Jeffrey Zalla, Chiquita's senior vice-president and chief financial officer. 'We look forward to her significant contributions as Chiquita's global leader of accounting, financial reporting and internal control functions.'
She steps into a role vacated by Brian Donan, who has decided to retire following a 10-year spell with the company.
'Brian provided solid leadership as controller, both for the total company since late 2007 and prior to that at Fresh Express, where he contributed to the company expanding market leadership in value-added salads,' Mr Zalla added. 'We appreciate Brian's contributions to our global business during the past 10 years and we wish him well in his retirement.'
