Yearly volumes of Chilean nuts sent to export markets climbed through week 37, according to a report by the Chilean Walnut Commission.
The Commission noted that 321 tonnes of nuts were shipped during week 37, bringing the yearly total to 27,149 tonnes and representing an increase of 18 per cent on the same week last year.
Growth has been driven by increased demand from Italy and Brazil, while there were also higher sales to the United Arab Emirates, the Commission reported.
Meanwhile, some 36 tonnes of in-shell nuts were exported through week 37 for a yearly total of 16,174 tonnes, up 45 per cent year-on-year.
