Carrefour has announced that James McCann, executive director for the group's French segment, has left the company, with CEO Lars Olofsson taking over the operational management of Carrefour's activities in France pending the appointment of a replacement.
The executive team of Carrefour France will work under Olofsson's direct supervision during the transitionary period, Carrefour announced, in a bid to accelerate the improvement of Carrefour's performance in France and to continue implementing its Transformation Plan.
As a result of the change, the Carrefour board has been asked to defer the proposed listing of 25 per cent of Carrefour Property.
Looking forward, Carrefour noted that it will further develop and strengthen the commercial attractiveness of sites as it deploys Carrefour Planet, while proposals for a 100 per cent spin-off of Dia, the group's hard discount unit, remain on the agenda.
