Turkish exporter çekok Group has announced that it is investing €19m in the construction of its Istanbul headquarters, due to be ready by the end of 2013.
According to CEO Cevdet çekok, the 45,000m2 area will serve as the main base for the group, as well as its packing and distribution centre for the Istanbul area, complete with the most modern machinery and the latest systems.
The centre will include coldstorage facilities and enable the company to increase its product range from 35 to 60, including a wide variety of vegetables.
The company has invested €750,000 in machinery, with plans to spend a further €2m in 2014, offering major savings in terms of labour costs and boosting productivity.
çekok has also added 150 refrigerated trucks to its fleet in order to help ensure the company delivers its produce fresh and on time.
