In line with the “PNNS 2” national programme for fighting obesity, French retail chain Casino has reiterated its commitment to providing a nutritional offering, particularly through the promotion of fruit and vegetables at point of sale.
The retailer said it aimed to increase the number of fruit and vegetable lines in its stores by 12-40 per cent in its hypermarkets and by 10-20 per cent in its supermarkets.
“The aim is to further develop this new organisational concept for displaying fruit and vegetables,” the company said. “At the moment, 141 supermarkets and 91 hypermarkets have adopted this new concept.”
In addition, Casino is set to offer a weekly assortment of 10 fruits and vegetables that will be sold at cut prices for the whole week.
