Carrefour has signed a deal with Romanian retail chain Angst as it looks to develop a network of Carrefour Express stores in the country, according to local reports.
Romania-Insider.com revealed this week that Angst, which is run by businessman Sorin Minea, agreed to a partnership with the France-based retailer that would see the relaunch of the Express network in Romania.
The Express banner has already existed in Romania before it was rebranded as Carrefour Market, with Carrefour now owning 38 supermarkets and 23 hypermarkets listed under the Market banner.
Angst boasts a store network of 27 outlets across Romania, and had a €43.9m turnover in 2010, according to Finance Ministry data.
