French retailer Carrefour has launched a national advertising campaign in the country that compares prices of 25 Carrefour Discount products with rival discounters Lidl and Leader Price, demonstrating that its hypermarkets and supermarkets are cheaper for a basket of everyday products than its competitors.
In the advert, the items come to €31.32 at Carrefour Market, €32.42 at a Lidl outlet, and €38.60 at a Leader Price outlet, Planet Retail reported.
Meanwhile, the retailer has launched a new eco-friendly Dia outlet in Spain, while also adding two other outlets under its other banners in the country.
According to the group, the eco store will see CO2 emissions reduced by 25 per cent, with other features including ore efficient frozen cabinets, and optimised lighting system and less polluting gas for its air conditioning and heating systems.
