French retail giant Carrefour has announced the acquisition of the RAST supermarket chain, which operates ten stores in Olsztyn, in northeastern Poland.
The takeover strengthens Carrefour's position in what has been one of its strongest performing markets in recent years.
100 per cent owned by Carrefour Group, Carrefour Poland opened its first outlet in 1997 in Lodz and now operates more than 600 stores in the country, including hypermarkets, supermarkets and convenience stores, with its franchise partners.
