French retail group Carrefour has appointed Luiz Fazzio as executive director of its Brazilian business, as well as a member of the group's executive committee.
Mr Fazzio, who previously worked at Wal-Mart, Pão de Açucar and C&A Brazil, where he served as general manager for seven years, will replace Jean-Marc Pueyo, who is leaving the group.
'Luiz Fazzio will bring to Carrefour Brazil his strong leadership and retail experience, notably in the area of hypermarkets, as it enters a new stage in its development,' the company stated.
The appointment will be effective as of 1 August.
