Carrefour has announced the appointment of Pierre Bouchut as the group's new chief financial officer (CFO), stepping into the role vacated by Eric Reiss.
Mr Bouchut, who is also handed a role on the retailer's executive committee, will be responsible for financial management, commercial financial services, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, assets and development, legal and tax affairs and IT systems.
The outgoing Mr Reiss has been appointed as director of the Carrefour hypermarket business unit in Brazil, reporting to executive director for Brazil and Latin America Jean-Marc Pueyo.
The changes will come into force in early January, Carrefour has said.
