Argentina’s berry growers’ organisation Capab has re-elected Alejandro Casado Achaval as its chairman for a second term.
On assuming his position, Mr Casado pledged to gear the association’s efforts towards improving conditions for growers as well as working more closely with all aspects of the supply chain.
The new chairman also expressed his desire to focus on the processed blueberry industry in Argentina, which remains untapped in comparison to the fresh sector.
As part of the election process, Capab has also made a number of changes to its managerial committee.
Francisco Cañedo was named secretary of the organisation, replacing Dante Stortini, and Oscar Gerding becomes treasurer succeeding Carlos Vallone.
Martin Rodríguez Hunter was appointed 1st vice-president to replace Jorge Pazos with Miguel Leonetti as 2nd vice-president following on from Darío Calderón.
Marcelo Zanchetti, meanwhile, remains deputy secretary and Néstor Fuhr replaces Jorge Schein as deputy treasurer.
